KUWAIT NBK SOLD ITS SHARES IN BAVET ILAC..
Kuwaiti National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), one of the largest financial institutions in the Middle East, is one of the first Gulf investors to come to Turkey.
Having bought 34.3 percent of Turkish Bank for 160 million dollars in 2007, its most important investment, NBK also bought shares from important companies of Turkey with its fund company.
NBK, which is a partner in companies such as Dünya Göz Hospitals, Yudum Gıda, Aras Kargo, Dem İlaç, Kılıç Deniz, exited these companies due to its fund feature and sold its shares over time.
Yatsan, Sistem-9, Perkon and Bavet Kimya remained in NBK’s Turkey portfolio. In July 2012, NBK acquired 50 percent of Bavet İlaç, which works for the pet market, and made significant contributions to the growth of the company.
That partnership ended recently. Bavet repurchased 50 percent of NBK’s controlling stake. Thus, after 8 years, NBK completed its exit from the Turkish company Bavet.
